Job Requirements

  • high school graduate preferred
  • two years of experience in hot food preparation and production in healthcare or institutional food service or currently works in NorthBay Nutrition department with completed cook competency checklist
  • current Safe Food Handler's certificate required
  • ability to work with a variety of individual personalities
  • knowledge of sanitation, safety and infection control procedures

Job Duties

  • maintains state and federal mandated standards of safety and cleanliness
  • prepares and produces hot food
  • distributes meals within and between healthcare facilities
  • sanitizes kitchen facilities and equipment
  • assembles and produces tray-line meals
  • manages product inventory and ordering
  • participates in departmental activities and projects
