Job Requirements
- Possess or obtain State of California Food Handler Certification within three months of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Flexibility to work at all UCSF Health locations
- Ability to read, write and be understood in English
- Willingness to work days, evenings, weekends and variable shifts
- Ability to maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Reliable and punctual with strong teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- State of California Food Handler Certification or obtain within three months of hire
- High school diploma or combination of education and experience
- Graduation from a recognized culinary school or two years food production experience
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Experience in training and developing culinary or production staff preferred
- Knowledge of HACCP standards preferred
- Two years of college or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare food for patient food services, café, coffee shops and conference center events
- Establish and monitor food quality standards including food temperature monitoring
- Solve issues related to culinary services before, during and after meal periods
- Assist with maintaining safety and sanitation within the culinary department
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train and assist culinary and production staff as needed
- Collaborate with team members to uphold UCSF Health standards
