Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in cooking and food preparation
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification during probation
  • Ability to prepare special medical diets
  • Willingness to undergo employment reference checks
  • Successful completion of Minnesota Department of Human Services background check
  • Completion of Tuberculosis screening prior to employment

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of large scale cooking methods and equipment
  • Understanding of food values and nutrition
  • Familiarity with health and safety principles in food preparation
  • Ability to follow written instructions
  • Experience preparing special medical diets
  • ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain during probation
  • Experience in large healthcare or senior care food service preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory and stocking
  • Understanding of IDDSI standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents, staff, and guests
  • Follow large scale cooking methods and adjust recipes as needed
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
  • Prepare special medical diets according to guidelines
  • Maintain inventory and proper stock levels
  • Follow written instructions and health regulations
  • Obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification
