Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Two years of paid food service experience including administrative duties
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operation documents
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to calculate proportions and percentages
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
  • Possession of current Food Handler's Card and annual physical exam
  • Obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid and Defensive Driving certifications
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions
  • Ability to pass criminal background checks
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel overnight
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical demands of the job

Job Qualifications

  • At least two years of paid food service experience with one year in administrative duties
  • Ability to cook, organize and manage food service operations within budget
  • CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving certifications
  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Job Duties

  • Prepares meals ensuring compliance with approved dietitian menus and regulations
  • Plans meals and notifies director and residents of substitutions
  • Manages food and kitchen inventory and orders supplies as needed
  • Maintains sanitary and safety standards in kitchen and serving areas
  • Keeps accurate written records of food service operations
  • Maintains knowledge of all policies, emergency drills and safety procedures
  • Attends required meetings and works flexible hours to provide staff coverage
