Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in preparation of meals and food services in an institutional setting preferred and/or experience in large scale meal preparation
- Training in food planning and preparation
- Knowledge of preparing healthy meals for a numerous amount of people
- Ability to follow directions, read and calculate varied menus and prepare food in a safe and healthy manner
Job Duties
- Provide quality food service within the guidelines of the school nutrition program
- Assist the Food Manager in the planning of daily meals
- Serve meals to residents and staff of the facility breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Responsible for cooking and cleaning of daily meals for a population up to 100 children and staff as well as other duties as assigned
- Hours will include some evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ensure that the kitchen meets state, local, and federal guidelines
- Assist the Food Manager in preparing inventory of food stock and other supplies
- Prepare and submit supply list as needed
