Job Requirements
- Possess minimum of 8th grade education
- Food experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
- Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must make independent decisions when warranted
- Ability to interact tactfully with a diverse group
- Knowledge of food procedures
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
- Patience and enthusiasm
- Ability to incorporate new food preparation methods
- Must not pose a direct threat to workplace health or safety
Job Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of 8th grade education
- One year food experience in supervisory capacity preferred but not necessary
- Knowledge of food procedures
- Leadership ability
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies
- Ability to maintain sanitation, order, and safety in food service areas
- Patience, tact, and cheerful disposition
Job Duties
- Review menus prior to preparation of food
- Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Director of Food Services
- Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary
- Work with the facility's dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required
- Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
- Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished
