Job Requirements
- Minimum three years experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, or similar institution
- Ability to plan and organize work efficiently
- Ability to understand and follow recipes, instructions, and standards
- Proficiency in basic English communication
- Capability to perform simple arithmetic including measurements and conversions
- Willingness to wear black non-slip footwear
- Physical ability to stand or walk up to eight hours daily
- Capacity to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently
- Tolerance to exposure from extreme temperatures and industrial cleaning chemicals
- Manual dexterity for food preparation tasks
- Ability to see, hear and communicate effectively
Job Qualifications
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Ability to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards
- Minimum of three years experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- Some knowledge of nutrition and diet
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic, measurements and conversions
- Wears appropriate black non-slip footwear
Job Duties
- Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces
- Boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes
- Prepares and serves all sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes
- Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, preserving excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food
- Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and ensures timely procurement from storage
- Maintains assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition
- Maintains acceptable personal hygiene standards and complies with dress code
