The opportunity available at Bellin Psychiatric Center is for a part-time Cook position, scheduled for 0.50 FTE, which equates to 20 hours per week. The work schedule includes days Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and holiday rotation. The primary responsibility of this role is preparing all food, including modifying recipes according to census needs. The Cook will provide age-appropriate care and service as applicable to the role, ensuring reliable and predictable outcomes without unnecessary delays. They will utilize information systems fully to optimize performance and assist other departments when needed. The role involves preparing and serving hot and cold food items, baking specialty items, restocking food and supplies, cleaning the work area and equipment, inventorying and ordering food, washing dishes, pots, and pans, and performing general daily cleaning duties. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- state approved Serve Safe Certification within 6 months of start date required
- one to two years of cooking/prep work preferred
- ability to work scheduled hours including every other weekend and holiday rotation
- ability to perform physical tasks related to cooking and cleaning
- strong communication and teamwork skills
