The Cook/Baker role at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus is crucial in supporting the hospital’s overall operations by providing high-quality food preparation for patients, staff, visitors, and special events. This position upholds stringent health and safety regulations in alignment with federal, state, and accrediting agency standards, ensuring all food services meet established quality benchmarks for taste, appearance, and safety. The role involves handling kitchen equipment such as combo-ovens, slicers, steamers, and mixers proficiently, adhering to food production schedules, and meeting demands for timely service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 years institutional cooking preferred
  • 1 year food service and/or cooking preferred
  • Food Handler Certification - ServSafe required in Illinois
  • Food Handler Certification - ServSafe preferred in Indiana

  • Follow production sheets to ensure correct quantities are made and available to all service areas
  • Follow sanitation guidelines of federal, state, and HFAP regulatory agencies
