For the upcoming PGA Championships, Delaware North's Patina Restaurant Group is seeking dedicated and experienced cooks to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-profile event environment, contributing to a renowned sporting event's culinary operations. The employment is temporary, covering a demanding seven-day schedule from May 10th to May 17th, with shifts beginning as early as 5:30 AM and extending up to 10 hours on some days. Punctuality and dedication are rewarded with a bonus for those who complete all seven days without tardiness or absenteeism. This role requires a commitment to teamwork, excellence in service, and a passion for creating a memorable guest experience under a fast-paced, professional setting.

As a Cook for Patina Restaurant Group during the PGA Championships, your primary responsibilities will include preparing food items to precise specifications both before and during the event, ensuring all food is measured, portioned, and cooked following department rules and quality standards. You will be expected to use various kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, and ovens safely and effectively. Maintaining food freshness, quality, and proper temperatures is critical, as is keeping your workstation and equipment clean, organized, and sanitized at all times. Compliance with health codes, sanitation regulations, and waste control guidelines is mandatory.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with at least six months of experience in a back-of-the-house food service role who is comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment where physical stamina, manual dexterity, and attention to detail are essential. You will be involved in key kitchen tasks including cooking food items according to recipes and production standards, ensuring food safety, maintaining a clean work environment, operating kitchen appliances safely, and assisting with inventory and ordering as needed. The ability to stand and work for long periods, handle heavy kitchen equipment, and adapt to noisy, hot, and damp conditions is necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids
  • ability to lift and carry large pans, weighing up to 50 lbs
  • ability to handle and/or operate all kitchen equipment in a safe manner
  • standing and walking for entire length of shift
  • frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting
  • pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops, and brooms
  • kitchen environment with noise levels that may be moderate-to-high
  • work frequently in a hot and damp environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 months previous experience in back-of-the-house foodservice position required
  • ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • basic math skills and ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions
  • available leading up to and during the event

Job Duties

  • Cook food items according to recipes and food production standards
