Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food preparation and cooking
- ability to pass a written examination with a minimum score of 70 percent
- ability to pass an oral interview contributing 70 percent of examination weight
- successful completion of preplacement medical assessment
- fingerprint clearance by federal and state authorities
- possession of a valid california motor vehicle operator's license for certain positions
- completion of child abuse mandated reporter training within six weeks of hire
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food preparation and cooking
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to supervise and coordinate food service staff
- basic math and measurement skills
- good communication and teamwork abilities
- ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions
Job Duties
- perform specialized and skilled tasks in the preparation and cooking of a variety of foods in a production food service facility
- assist in the coordination and supervision of food service personnel
- maintain production activities at a high level of quantity and quality
- ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- prepare foods according to established recipes and dietary guidelines
- maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment
- assist with inventory management and supply ordering
