Job Requirements

  • Must be minimum 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or GED
  • at least 1-year previous food service experience desired
  • must be flexible with ability to respond quickly to issues
  • working knowledge of food production, purchasing, and sanitation
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • able to define problems and implement solutions
  • able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • valid San Bernardino County Food Handlers Card required within 30 days of hire
  • ability to provide two-way communication and nurture positive teamwork

Job Duties

  • Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
  • prepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
  • properly label and date food items for storage
  • stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period
  • comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
  • use food preparation tools according to manufacturer instructions
  • close the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist
  • maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
  • assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas
  • prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • use safe and hygienic food handling practices
  • keep workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and stocked
  • use waste control guidelines and record all waste
  • understand and maintain proper sanitation and food safety
  • abide by company policies and code of conduct
  • perform additional duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Chef
