Job Requirements

  • Relevant experience in restaurant or hotel food preparation preferred
  • high school diploma or general education degree preferred
  • must be able to work in fast-paced environment
  • must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures such as freezers and loading dock
  • must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push or pull objects
  • frequent bending, kneeling and reaching required
  • ability to stand during entire shift
  • flexibility to work variable days of the week including weekends and holidays
  • flexibility to work variable shifts including days, nights and overnights
  • ability to work ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes needed

Job Duties

  • Produce all food orders in a timely and consistent manner in accordance with established quality standards
  • test food to ensure quality and consistency
  • operate all kitchen equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • handle and store food items safely and keep work area clean and sanitized including all opening and closing duties
  • operate dish machine and clean and sanitize pots, pans, china, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment and utensils
  • store all clean kitchen items properly to minimize breakage
  • clean and sanitize kitchen and food preparation areas
  • sweep and mop all kitchen floors and other assigned areas
  • collect and properly dispose of trash
  • service food for the Employee Cafeteria as specified by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor
  • adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines
  • adhere to uniform and grooming standards
  • perform other duties or projects as requested by management
