The available position is for a Cook, a crucial role within the kitchen team responsible for preparing and directing food preparation to meet established quality and sanitation standards. This role requires adherence to established food production programs and procedures, ensuring that all food served meets the company’s strict guidelines for hygiene and safety. The Cook will handle various kitchen tasks from prepping raw ingredients to cooking and plating dishes according to recipes and menu specifications. Additionally, the individual must ensure the proper use of kitchen equipment and supplies to avoid waste and maintain operational efficiency.

As a Cook at GCRG, you will be working in a fast-paced kitchen environment utilizing equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, steamers, and mixers. The role demands physical stamina as it involves exposure to heat, steam, cold, and the repetitive use of hands and wrists. You will be expected to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, comply with health and sanitation regulations, and contribute to a safe working environment. This position does not carry supervisory responsibilities but requires excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively as part of the kitchen staff.

This is a full-time role that may require working long hours, including frequent weekend shifts. Occasionally, some travel may be required to attend meetings.   • prior restaurant experience preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods

Job Duties

  • Prepares food served using established production procedures and systems
  • serves or ensures proper serving of food for dining room
  • complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards
  • stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item
  • reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor
  • correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders
  • apportions food for serving
  • prepares assigned food items
  • washes and cleans raw food products
  • peels, dices, shreds and slices food products using kitchen equipment
  • measures and assembles ingredients and cooks items according to recipes and menu specifications
  • grills, deep fries, bakes, broils and microwaves raw and prepped foods
  • completes daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • stocks/restocks items on line according to specifications
  • keeps work area neat and clean at all times
  • cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation
  • completes food temperature checks before service
