The position available plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of this new Neuropsychiatric Hospital, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering healthcare environment. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, Senior Manager, Principal Cook, and Senior Cook, the role involves preparing, seasoning, and cooking meals for a wide range of individuals including patients, staff, visitors, and participants of special events. This dynamic role is vital to maintaining the highest food quality and safety standards while catering to diverse dietary requirements in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare setting. Employees in this role are also expected to be flexible and ready to float to various locations across the health system as departmental needs arise.
This is a union-represented position under the AFSCME Union, with a minimum wage of $25 per hour effective June 22, 2025. - Previous experience in food preparation or cooking
- Ability to follow directions and work under supervision

Job Duties
- Prepare and season meals according to dietary and nutritional guidelines
- Cook meals for patients, staff, visitors, and special events
- Float between various locations to meet departmental needs
- Collaborate with kitchen staff under the direction of Executive Chef and management
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain kitchen equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition
- Assist in inventory management and food preparation planning
