The seasonal Cook position at Delaware North Sportservice within Miami Freedom Park offers a compelling opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, motivated kitchen team. With a competitive pay of $18.00 per hour, the role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and who thrive under the energy and urgency of a bustling food service environment. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food and beverage products, operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitization standards are upheld rigorously. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to follow recipes and procedures closely. It offers a chance to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, holidays, weekends, and special event shifts.

Job Requirements

  • No experience or diploma required
  • Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team player, following procedures and taking directions
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs or more
  • Ability to stand for long periods while bending, lifting, and reaching
  • Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders
  • Exposed to variable temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations

Job Duties

  • Follow supervisor's assignments for food production and prepare food and beverage products for guests by following recipe guidelines, using proper preparation techniques, and sanitation guidelines
  • Set up, operate and clean kitchen equipment according to correct procedures as well as keeping workstations clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Work cooperatively with team members and management
  • Follow supervisor's assignments for opening and closing procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
