The hospital provides a comprehensive range of clinical services, including cardiovascular care, diagnostic imaging, women’s health services such as digital mammography and bone density studies, neurosciences, surgical care, pathology, pulmonary services, pediatric care with specialized newborn and Level III nurseries, and sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment.

The role of Cook at St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a critical position dedicated to the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors through the preparation of high-quality, safe, and nutritious meals. This position requires a culinary professional who can consistently produce meals that meet the specific needs of therapeutic diets while adhering strictly to all state and federal food safety regulations within a healthcare environment. As a Cook in this fast-paced setting, you will be expected to apply safe cooking techniques, follow precise recipes, and execute rigorous quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

You will be responsible for championing food quality standards, making sure that meals meet expectations for appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation. Your skills will extend to operating a wide range of kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills, ensuring that all food is prepared to exact specifications. Modifying meal preparations to accommodate food allergies and therapeutic dietary needs will be part of your daily responsibilities, guaranteeing safe and appropriate nutritional support for hospital patients. The role also involves careful labeling and proper storage of food products and kitchen equipment to comply with regulations and hospital guidelines. Maintaining a clean and sanitary cooking and serving environment is imperative to support patient health and food safety.

St. Luke’s Health values candidates with robust experience in high-volume food preparation alongside strong knowledge of food safety practices and therapeutic diet requirements. This position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to culinary excellence and eager to contribute meaningfully to patient care within a hospital setting. The pay range for this role is $18.15 to $25.63 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and important duties that this job entails.
