Job Description

Hilton Garden Inn Avondale is part of the MCR company portfolio, one of the largest hotel owner-operators in the United States. Founded in 2006, MCR has grown significantly to manage a $5 billion portfolio of 148 premium-branded hotels encompassing more than 22,000 guestrooms across 37 states and 106 cities. With offices located in New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Richmond, Virginia, MCR operates hotels under nine Marriott brands, eight Hilton brands, and several independent unflagged properties. Known for its innovation, MCR was recognized as one of Fast Company's 10 Most Innovative Travel Companies of 2020 and has received multiple prestigious awards such as the Marriott Partnership Circle Award and the Hilton Legacy Award for Top Performer. Notably, MCR’s development of the TWA Hotel at New York’s JFK Airport has earned accolades including the Development of the Year Award at ALIS and national honors in architecture by the American Institute of Architects.

The Hilton Garden Inn Avondale is seeking a Cook to join its culinary team. This position demands preparing meals based on standardized recipes while maintaining exemplary standards that ensure food is appealing and appetizing. The role involves critical responsibilities including managing food safety, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen, as well as minimizing waste and maximizing cost-effectiveness. The Cook will be expected to contribute to excellent guest experiences by producing high-quality meals efficiently and supporting the overall operation of the restaurant. It requires a hands-on approach where the employee must assist in food preparation, storage, and rotation and maintain work areas compliant with health regulations. This job demands flexibility in scheduling including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts based on hotel demands.

The successful candidate will thrive in a team-oriented setting, contributing to the hotel's broader mission of cleanliness, friendliness, and teamwork excellence. Hilton Garden Inn Avondale emphasizes the importance of guest satisfaction and employee cooperation, ensuring that all team members communicate professionally and uphold a welcoming environment. The role also includes following operational checklists with 100% accuracy, completing shift handover reports timely, and maintaining impeccable uniform standards.

In addition to the dynamic work environment, MCR offers competitive benefits to enhance employee well-being and professional growth. These include hotel discounts, weekly pay, paid time off, retirement options, referral bonuses, opportunities for career advancement, and comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees after 30 days. Candidates must show a positive attitude, willingness to learn, adherence to schedules, punctuality, and the ability to handle physical tasks such as prolonged standing and repetitive motions, often required in a busy kitchen setting. This job is a key part of delivering exceptional guest experiences aligned with Hilton and MCR’s high standards in the hospitality industry.
