Job Duties
- Prepare special meals or substitute products
- regulate oven, grill, and roaster temperatures
- thaw food by removing it from freezer to refrigerator
- ensure correct portioning, plating, and garnishing
- keep records of food inventory
- control the quality and quantity of food prepared
- communicate staffing assistance needs during busy times
- report excess food products to the chef for daily specials
- inform food and beverage staff about rejected products and available specials
- ensure food product quality
- prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
- prepare cold dishes
- assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, advising, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
- serve as an example
- comply with all safety and company policies and procedures
