Located in Clayton, Missouri, this esteemed hotel offers guests an exceptional experience marked by impeccable service, elegance, and comfort. Known for its dedication to delivering the highest standards of luxury and personalized service, The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis creates memorable experiences that guests cherish long after their stay. The establishment prides itself on fostering a rich culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of all its associates. As an equal opportunity employer, The Ritz-Carlton embraces a supportive environment where every team member can thrive and contribute meaningfully. Working at The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a community that is committed to making a difference in the hospitality industry and offering an unsurpassed level of excellence and care.
This opportunity is for a Full-Time, Non-Management role within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category. The position is based onsite at the hotel in St. Louis, Missouri, and involves direct responsibility for preparing and cooking food that meets the high standards of the brand’s quality, presentation, and safety protocols. As a culinary professional at The Ritz-Carlton, you will contribute directly to creating the culinary experiences that complement the brand's legendary service. Your role will involve preparing ingredients through careful portioning, chopping, and storing, manipulating baking and measuring tools and equipment correctly, and ensuring compliance with temperature controls and food safety standards at all times. The position requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to hygiene and sanitation, and the ability to maintain an organized, clean kitchen environment. You will be expected to monitor food quality consistently throughout your shift and assist in maintaining workstations and kitchen spaces to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
This role also entails upholding company policies regarding safety, security, and professional conduct. You will be actively involved in accident prevention, injury reporting, and completing safety trainings. Professionalism extends beyond food preparation as you interact with team members and guests, fostering positive relationships and contributing to a collaborative, goal-focused work atmosphere. Physically, this job demands the capability to move, lift, and maneuver objects up to 25 pounds independently, and involves standing or walking for extended periods. The Ritz-Carlton emphasizes the importance of appearance and confidentiality, advocating for clean uniforms and maintenance of proprietary information.
Employees here are expected to embody the Gold Standards, which include the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values that define The Ritz-Carlton’s approach to guest service. These standards help create a supportive workplace where associates are empowered to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate, contributing to a culture that leads the industry in luxury hospitality. Joining The Ritz-Carlton means embarking on a journey toward personal and professional growth within a globally respected brand. It is a place to be your best, to begin your purpose, to belong to a remarkable team, and to become the best version of yourself. With less than one year of culinary experience required and a high school diploma or GED preferred, this position provides a welcoming environment for those eager to develop their skills and grow in hospitality.
