Job Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain valid licenses and certifications per federal, state, and gaming regulations
- must successfully pass background check
- must successfully pass drug screening
- must be at least eighteen years of age
- knowledge of basic food preparation and line work experience
- knowledge of kitchen equipment
- knowledge of international cuisines
- ability to work varying shifts and time schedules flexibly
- effective communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
- ability to use all equipment associated with the position including choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- culinary apprenticeship or associate degree in culinary arts preferred
- basic food preparation knowledge
- experience with kitchen equipment
- knowledge of international cuisines
- ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests
- flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules
- ability to use equipment such as choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders
Job Duties
- Create an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain
- actively build and retain guest relations
- act as a mentor to team members
- prepare foods that are grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached or prepared in the pantry
- ensure plates or pans are aesthetically appealing and cooked to specifications
- recognize and properly place sauces on entrees
- keep workstation neat and clean
- assist co-workers to ensure efficient kitchen operation
- perform duties for special events and parties
- ensure cleanliness of working area
- report equipment safety failures and hazards
- ensure proper storing of foods
- maintain fully stocked items and working equipment
- properly close down workstations
- assist with special event duties such as carving, cooking, setup, and teardown
- attend and participate in meetings
- season food according to recipes
- assist other cooks during food assembly
- clean up before shift ends
- clean food preparation and public areas
- perform work regularly and predictably
- clean and sanitize work and public spaces
- perform other duties as assigned
