The Cook II position at Sodexo within HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland is a full-time role that offers an hourly pay range from $13.50 to $16.00. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food preparation, culinary creativity, and customer service in a fast-paced healthcare hospitality setting. The successful candidate works various shifts with a preference for open availability, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of the unit. As a Cook II, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals for patients, staff, and visitors, demonstrating excellent cooking skills and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
Your daily involvement will extend beyond cooking to actively contributing as a key team player focused on reducing food waste and supporting operational excellence. The role involves preparing a variety of hot and cold dishes across multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events, ensuring high quality and presentation standards are met consistently. You will work with established recipes and product instructions, potentially operating grill stations, and engaging directly with customers during a la carte service. There may also be opportunities to assist management in overseeing daily kitchen functions and staff, fostering a safe and positive work environment.

- 3-4 years of related cooking experience preferred

Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
- prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
- support management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
- attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
- maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment
- perform other duties as assigned depending on account needs and client requirements
