This role involves the preparation of a wide variety of food items, including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold dishes. The cook will assist in setting up kitchen stations in alignment with the daily menu and instructions from the Chef, ensuring that all food preparation meets established standards for quality and hygiene. The cook will also be responsible for arranging sauces and garnishes, maintaining sanitary work conditions, and managing food storage to preserve freshness. Additional duties include supporting buffet and food display arrangements while adhering to health and safety guidelines.\n\nThis position offers a pay rate of $18.00 per hour, with additional compensation through service charges, providing an attractive opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about quality food preparation and hospitality service. Job Requirements

  • Previous professional cooking experience required
  • Must have good knife skills
  • Ability to meet cooking skill standards as established by cook level
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach and bend
  • Must be able to lift over 50 pounds occasionally

Job Duties

  • Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
  • Prepare a variety of foods
  • meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
  • Arrange sauces and supplementary garnishes for allocated station
  • Cover, date and correctly store all bits and pieces and food prep items
  • Notify Chef in advance of likely shortages
  • Serve menu items compliant with established standards
  • Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufactures instructions
  • Close the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
  • Keep the work area fresh all through the shift
  • Make sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately
  • Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices
  • Returns dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas
