Job Requirements

High school degree or GED preferred
minimum one year recent experience as cook or prep cook or equivalent
must be 18 years of age or older
no felony, theft or stealing convictions
must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
must pass background investigation
must obtain and maintain gaming license
knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils
knowledge of safe kitchen practices
knowledge of basic foods and uses
knowledge of food safety regulations
ability to obtain Food Handlers card
ability to obtain TIPS certification
ability to communicate, read and write basic English
ability to provide outstanding guest service
ability to work in fast-paced environment
ability to maintain professional appearance
ability to organize and coordinate tasks
ability to use cleaning equipment safely
ability to learn culinary techniques
ability to communicate clearly with management
ability to stand for extended periods
ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
willingness to work evenings, graveyards, holidays, and weekends

Job Qualifications

knowledge of safe kitchen working practices
knowledge of basic foods and their uses
knowledge of food safety regulations
ability to obtain Food Handlers card

ability to communicate, read and write basic English
ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service
ability to work in fast-paced environment
ability to maintain professional appearance and manner
ability to organize and coordinate tasks among coworkers
ability to safely use and administer cleaning equipment
ability to learn culinary methods, techniques and principles
ability to communicate clearly to all management levels

Job Duties

Cooks and prepares a variety of foods according to the menu and business demand
uses and learns proper knife skills, cooking techniques, methods and terminology
reads, understands and follows standardized recipes for all food venues
communicates effectively with Assistant Sous Chef
maintains safe stock levels and communicates needs with Assistant Sous Chef
ensures work area cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in compliance with health and safety regulations
completes all assigned duties and maintains venue readiness by opening time
manages cleanliness, labeling and organization of all food storage areas
ensures equipment, tools, floors, and prep areas are free from clutter and non-approved items
demonstrates branded attitude towards team members and guests
supports and reinforces the casino's Spirit of Service Standards
follows established casino procedures
maintains professional communication and positive work environment
contributes to team efforts
performs other duties as required
