- experience as a line cook or in food preparation
- knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
- ability to supervise junior kitchen staff
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- capability to manage inventory and report supply needs
- willingness to perform additional kitchen duties as needed
- ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to supervise kitchen staff
- excellent teamwork and communication skills
- familiarity with inventory control and food waste reduction
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a kitchen setting
Job Duties
- Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes
- control food usage to minimize waste
- prepare and cook orders for daily operations
- advise supervisor of low inventory items
- assist in receiving items and taking inventory as required
- maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area
- maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work area including reach-ins, walk-ins, and counters
- report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
- perform dishwasher or other kitchen duties as needed
- promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
- occasionally interact directly with guests
- assist with other duties as assigned
