Job Description

Under the direction of the Department Manager or Supervisor, this role involves preparing a variety of quality foods for all areas of dining services, assisting in menu planning and food purchasing. The position requires the ability to work under indirect supervision and maintain efficient food production on a daily basis.

Job Requirements

  • Three (3) years of restaurant/institutional cooking experience
  • effective oral communication skills
  • ability to operate food service equipment
  • capable of sound judgment in decision-making
  • experience working in a small work group
  • institutional/restaurant cooking expertise including food preparation from scratch, production skills, ordering, and receiving supplies
  • ability to adjust recipes and select quality products.
