Located on the Southside of Richmond, this 460-plus bed acute care facility is renowned for its pioneering healthcare delivery and access to highly-trained physicians and advanced technology. The hospital is recognized as the region's first choice for specialties such as orthopedics, joint care, behavioral health, and cardiovascular care. With accolades including The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval and Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for areas like stroke, heart attack, and surgical care, Chippenham Hospital stands out as a leading institution committed to excellence in patient care. Moreover, it is designated as a Level I Burn Center and Level I Trauma Center, underscoring its readiness to handle the most critical medical emergencies.

The role of Cook II at Chippenham Hospital is an exceptional opportunity for culinary professionals who wish to contribute to healthcare through food service. Under general supervision, the Cook II is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide variety of food items in appropriate quantities, strictly following menus, recipes, and production sheets. Attention to detail in portion sizes and quality standards is essential, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment to ensure patient and staff safety. This position requires effective communication with other production staff regarding the menu items and procedures, as well as the ability to provide training and guidance to colleagues involved in food preparation. The Cook II role operates within the framework of HACCP and food safety guidelines, utilizing appropriate equipment to produce standard recipes and adhering to food production quality processes. This position is integral to delivering nutritious, safe, and high-quality meals that support the overall health and wellbeing of patients, visitors, and staff in a healthcare setting. The hospital emphasizes a team-oriented approach where every employee’s contribution is valued, making this an ideal career path for those who take pride in serving others and thrive in a structured, mission-driven environment. Eligible candidates can expect support through a comprehensive benefits package that encompasses medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and telemedicine services, alongside retirement and financial wellness programs, education assistance, and more.
