The Food Preparation Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as measuring and mixing ingredients accurately according to recipe requirements. This role involves operating various kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, to cook food items properly and to standard.
Furthermore, the position demands a keen eye for food quality and safety, testing foods to determine sufficient cooking, monitoring temperatures of food and appliances, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, tools, and workstations in compliance with company policies and health regulations. Teamwork is integral, as this role includes collaborating effectively with colleagues to meet common goals and responding professionally to workplace concerns. The role also demands physical stamina, as it requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds throughout a shift.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or g.e.d. equivalent
- at least 1 year of related work experience
- ability to operate kitchen equipment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- ability to follow recipes and quality standards
- physical ability to perform duties including standing walking bending and lifting up to 25 pounds
