Responsibilities include adhering to Grand Victoria Casino and Food and Beverage standards, collaborating with other food preparation personnel to plan menus, and ensuring cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas. The role requires a strong focus on maintaining food quality, timely delivery, and strict compliance with internal control systems and service standards.\n\nThis job entails hands-on culinary activities such as applying proper preparation methods, using kitchen equipment safely, and managing inventory with FIFO methods. Additionally, the individual will be tasked with maintaining an organized and sanitary workspace and coordinating line operations in the absence of sous chefs. The job requires prolonged standing, the ability to perform physical motions like bending and lifting, and working under varying conditions involving noise, temperature, and air quality. Effective communication in English and a commitment to teamwork are essential as the role involves interaction with guests, colleagues, and management teams.\n\nCandidates should possess or be working toward an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or a related field and have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training. Required certifications include a Level 3 Occupational Illinois Gaming Board License and Illinois Sanitation Certification. Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written, oral or diagram instructions

  • Ability to use electrical equipment and sharp utensils

  • Working knowledge of carving and all kitchen equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts from a 2-year college or technical school preferred
  • 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 3 Occupational Illinois Gaming Board License
  • Illinois Sanitation Certification

Job Duties

  • Understand and adhere to Grand Victoria Casino and Food and Beverage standards
  • Obtain a basic understanding of the Internal Control System (ICS) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)
  • Ability to comply with and practice the Family Style Service Standards
  • Confer with food preparation personnel to plan menus and related activities
  • Utilize the proper preparation method for all food orders
  • Responsible for the execution of all food preparation for shift
  • Responsible for all cleanliness, safety and sanitation for assigned area
  • Ensure food quality is at the highest standard, cooked and delivered on time
  • Utilize the FIFO method for all items used in the area
  • Responsible for accuracy of line in absence of Sous Chefs
  • Perform all other tasks that may be assigned in the future
