Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary apprenticeship or associate's degree from a culinary institution preferred
- Some industry experience preferred
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications per federal, state and gaming regulations
- Must successfully pass background check
- Must successfully pass drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of basic food preparation and line work
- Ability to be flexible with work shifts and schedules
- Effective communication skills with employees and guests
- Ability to use equipment such as choppers, slicers, mixers and grinders
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications per regulations
- Must successfully pass background check
- Must successfully pass drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Duties
- Create an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento for gaming entertainment
- Prepare foods that are grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached or prepared in the pantry
- Ensure all plates or pans served are aesthetically appealing and cooked to customer and chef specifications
- Recognize a variety of sauces and properly place them on entrees
- Keep work station neat and clean
- Assist coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen
- Ensure cleanliness of working area, report equipment safety failures, hazardous areas and accidents
- Ensure proper storing of food items, including those from previous functions
- Ensure items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition
- Ensure proper closing down of work stations
- Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned
- Perform work regularly and predictably
- Assist with duties at special events, including carving, cooking, setup, teardown or other duties as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
