Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years related cooking experience
- recommendation from manager, supervisor or team members
- ability to obtain Southern Nevada Health Card
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- physical capability to handle kitchen tasks
- tolerance to noise, temperature, and air quality variations
- knowledge of kitchen equipment
- ability to work under physically demanding conditions
- ability to communicate professionally with team and guests
- willingness to perform all duties in compliance with departmental and casino policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Recommendation from manager, supervisor or team members
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years related experience preferably within a hotel or gaming property
- at least 3 years of experience on a cook line or similar environment
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to obtain Southern Nevada Health Card
- knowledge and ability to work with kitchen equipment
- tolerance to moderate to loud noise levels, temperature variations, illumination, and exposure to smoke
- ability to interact professionally with hotel executives, management, employees, and guests
- physical capability to perform kitchen tasks involving eye-hand coordination and physical demands such as balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and carrying
- ability to occasionally handle items up to 50 pounds
- general knowledge and use of standard office equipment
- ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
Job Duties
- Perform advanced cooking procedures
- operate and rotate multiple cooking stations
- delegate shift tasks independently or with others
- prepare specialty or wide range of food dishes according to kitchen needs
- operate various cooking equipment such as grill, fryer, broiler, oven, French top, pizza oven, and wok
- handle shift breaks for other cooks and room leaders
- maintain awareness of procedures, policies, and developments
- lead and motivate team members in all cook classifications
- ensure ingredient supply levels are accurate
- restock stations by moving items from shelves to carts
- maintain required par of food items in assigned stations
- adhere to safety and health code regulations
- keep work areas clean and free of debris
- maintain sanitary and organized work area
- care for and clean kitchen tools and equipment properly
- demonstrate product knowledge by correctly storing and handling perishables
- prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications
- communicate effectively with chefs, service, kitchen maintenance personnel, and managers
- assist with other job-related duties as assigned
- train and lead new hires or transfers
- perform other duties as assigned
