Job Requirements

  • 18 years of age or above
  • Must obtain and maintain Massachusetts Gaming Commission registration or license
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting 50 pounds, and other moderate physical activities
  • Ability to work varying schedules
  • Must interact professionally with guests and team members
  • Ability to read and respond to documents and inquiries
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to work in noisy environments
  • Willingness to undergo reasonable accommodations if needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary arts or related field education or experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knife skills and safe food handling practices preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years cooking experience preferred
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy and procedure manuals
  • Conversational English required
  • Second language a plus
  • Ability to write instructions and present information

Job Duties

  • Adheres to Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards
  • Actively contributes to departmental performance and ensures accuracy and confidentiality of policies and reports
  • Follows all applicable internal policies, laws, rules, regulations, and property-wide controls
  • Delivers and maintains a high level of service and guest satisfaction
  • Contributes to company-wide communication and best practices
  • Assists in training new team members
  • Keeps informed of all new developments within the department
  • Balances multiple priorities and meets deadlines in high-pressure situations
  • Cooks high-quality food according to standard recipes
  • Manages multiple hot and cold stations
  • Assists with preparation, presentation, decoration, and storage of food items
  • Communicates challenges or guest feedback to superiors
  • Notifies chef on duty if tasks cannot be completed on time
  • Attends daily briefings and meetings
  • Prepares food, beverage, material, and equipment needed for service
  • Cleans and resets working area
  • Prioritizes safety and follows all safety standards
  • Maintains knowledge of industry through continuing education
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
