Job Description

Marriott International stands as one of the world's most renowned hospitality companies, committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through impeccable service and innovative hotel management. JW Marriott, a distinguished brand within Marriott International’s luxury portfolio, embodies this commitment by combining luxury, comfort, and personalized guest care across its more than 100 properties in key gateway cities and unique resort destinations worldwide. Known for its elegant environments and authentic hospitality, JW Marriott continually seeks dedicated professionals who contribute to upholding its legacy and enhancing the guest experience.

This job opening is for a full-time, non-management position located at the JW Marriott in New Orleans, Louisiana, a vibrant city celebrated for its rich culture and culinary heritage. The role falls under the Food and Beverage & Culinary category and plays a crucial part in supporting the operations of one of the finest luxury hotels. The position involves food preparation, quality control, and collaboration with the culinary and service teams to ensure guest satisfaction through meticulously prepared menu items.

The primary essence of this role is to prepare special meals and substitute items as needed, regulate cooking equipment temperatures such as ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, and manage food logistics including thawing and portion control. Maintaining accurate food logs and monitoring the quality and quantity of food prepared are vital responsibilities that help sustain high standards and reduce waste. In collaboration with the chef and food service staff, the individual will communicate the availability of specials and out-of-stock items to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.

Furthermore, this role supports management by assisting with hiring activities, employee training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, and motivation, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and a positive working environment. The position demands adherence to all company safety, security, and uniform policies while encouraging personal accountability toward maintaining confidentiality and protecting company assets.

Physical demands of the role include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as performing various movements such as bending, twisting, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, clear communication skills, and a proactive attitude toward addressing guest needs and fostering team collaboration.

Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of a global community that not only values diverse backgrounds and experiences but actively nurtures growth through training, development, and holistic well-being. The JW TreatmentTM philosophy ensures associates receive the support they need to be their best, which in turn reflects in exceptional service to guests.
