Job Description
The West Hollywood EDITION, located at 9040 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, California, is a distinguished hotel brand that combines the visionary style of boutique hotelier Ian Schrager with the luxury service standards of Marriott International. This unique blend creates a hospitality experience that is both elegant and original, seamlessly balancing perfection with individuality. The EDITION brand caters to sophisticated and informed guests who appreciate quality, design, and exceptional service without limitations. Guests can expect an experience that breaks conventional boundaries, offering an atmosphere filled with charm, charisma, and a theatrical vibe that continuously delights and surprises.
The hotel is part of the Marriott International portfolio, a global leader in the hospitality industry committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. Marriott International actively fosters an environment where associates from varied backgrounds can thrive and feel welcomed. As a hotel brand under Marriott, the West Hollywood EDITION embodies these values along with a dedication to providing top-tier guest experiences. The work environment at EDITION is inspiring and challenging, designed to make team members proud and engaged in their roles. It is a place where service is heartfelt, dynamic, and personal rather than scripted, encouraging employees to perform at their best while embodying warmth and professionalism.
This full-time, non-management position in the Food and Beverage & Culinary category offers an hourly pay range of $33.28 to $34.28. The role focuses on the preparation of special meals, product replacement, and quality control in food service. Responsibilities include regulating oven, grill, and roaster temperatures; thawing foods properly; monitoring portion sizes and garnishes; maintaining food records; and ensuring overall food quality and quantity. The role also calls for effective communication with kitchen management and the food and beverage service staff to manage product use, special dishes, and rejected items.
The position also involves aiding the management in staff-related tasks such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching, with an emphasis on leading by example. Adherence to safety policies and procedures is critical, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, as well as participating in safety training and certification. Personal appearance must meet professional standards, with the importance of confidentiality and protection of company assets stressed.
Ideal candidates must anticipate guest service needs, communicate clearly and professionally, build positive working relationships, and support the team in meeting shared goals. The role requires physical stamina to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods, as well as perform stretching, bending, twisting, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds alone. A willingness to perform other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors is essential.
Candidates with a technical, trade, or vocational school diploma and at least three years of relevant experience are preferred, though supervisory experience is not required and no licensing or certification is necessary. Joining the West Hollywood EDITION means becoming part of a global Marriott International team where one can perform their best work, find purpose, and grow into their best professional self while contributing to a vibrant, creative, and diverse community committed to excellence and inclusivity.
