As a culinary team member at Sushi by Bou, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes following precise recipes and standards. You will regulate oven, grill, and rotisserie temperatures, thaw products safely, and ensure proper portioning, distribution, and garnishing of all meals served. Attention to food quality and maintaining detailed food records are key aspects of this role. You will also be expected to communicate effectively with kitchen management and front-of-house staff to coordinate specials and manage product availability.
This position requires proactive assistance during peak times and participation in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen environment. You will follow all relevant safety policies, assist management with training, scheduling, and employee evaluations, and act as a positive example to fellow team members. - Prepare special meals or replace products
- regulate oven, grill and rotisserie temperatures
- thaw food from freezer in refrigerator
- ensure proper portioning, distribution and garnishing of food
- maintain food records
- monitor quality and quantity of food prepared
- communicate assistance needed during busy periods
- report excess food products to chef for daily specials
- inform Food and Beverage staff of rejected products and specials
- ensure food product quality
- prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards and presentation standards
- prepare cold dishes
- assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating and training employees
- comply with all safety and company procedures
- report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions
- maintain clean and professional appearance
- anticipate and meet guest service needs
- communicate clearly and professionally with others
- cultivate and maintain positive working relationships
- support team to achieve common goals
- ensure compliance with quality expectations
- perform physical duties such as standing, sitting or walking for prolonged periods
