Job Requirements

  • must possess knowledge of basic operation of a kitchen
  • understand oral and/or written instructions
  • ability to read and quantify recipes and menus
  • interact appropriately with customers, government personnel, subcontractors and management
  • meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract
  • pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screening
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to work variable hours including weekends and holidays
  • ability to travel to various locations

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of basic kitchen operations
  • ability to understand oral and written instructions
  • ability to read and quantify recipes and menus
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to interact appropriately with diverse individuals
  • prior experience in food preparation preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • accurately prepare food items for various meal periods
  • portion and cook food following recipes and menus
  • present food attractively during service
  • interact professionally with customers, government personnel, subcontractors, and team members
  • comply with safety and sanitation standards
  • follow instructions related to emergency operations and scheduling
  • assist with cleaning and maintenance of kitchen areas
