The position of Cook I at Sodexo, based at Holy Cross House, offers both full-time and part-time employment options with a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $21.00 per hour. As a Cook I, you will be responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items across different meal periods and events according to Sodexo's high culinary standards. The role ensures that all food products are prepared safely, efficiently, and with impeccable quality and presentation.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Must attend work and be punctual
- Must follow health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic operation of kitchen equipment and food-handling procedures
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Ensure all food products are prepared safely and efficiently
- Stand or walk for extended periods during shifts
- Lift up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time
- Perform repetitive motions as required
- Support teamwork and uphold Sodexo's culinary standards
