We are currently seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our team under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional dining experiences to the residents and employees of Front Porch residential facilities by preparing and cooking meals and specialty items. The position offers a pay range of $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, with working hours typically from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., although the exact days are to be determined. The role demands culinary expertise and adherence to strict quality, safety, and sanitation standards. A Line Cook at Canterbury Woods Retirement Community will be responsible for preparing a variety of foods including meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables using different cooking methods such as broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing. The cook must maintain high standards in portion control, presentation, and cleanliness, ensuring that all meals served meet the facility's quality expectations. Beyond cooking, the person will also manage inventory at the line stations, assist in food preparation during quieter periods, and follow all health and safety protocols rigorously. This position plays a vital role in the dining services team, contributing not only to the residents' nutritional needs but also enhancing their overall dining satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Food handlers certification from local health department
- Ability to work between 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. with days to be determined
- Compliance with all health codes and safety regulations
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
- Ability to follow established portion sizes and cooking methods
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents families co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
- Prepare a variety of meats seafood poultry vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers ovens grills fryers and other kitchen equipment
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes cooking methods quality standards and kitchen rules policies and procedures
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station including tables shelves grills broilers fryers pasta cookers saute burners convection oven flat top range and refrigeration equipment
- Prepare items for broiling grilling frying sauteing or other cooking methods by portioning battering breading seasoning and or marinating
