This role involves preparing special meals or substitute items, regulating temperatures of various cooking equipment like ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, and effectively managing food thawing by pulling items from freezer storage to refrigerators. The role requires keen attention to detail to ensure proper portion sizes, thorough arrangement, and appealing food garnishes. Maintaining accurate food logs and monitoring both the quality and quantity of food prepared are fundamental to the position. Communication is critical, especially during busy periods, to call for assistance when needed, and to keep the Chef informed about excess food items, which may be incorporated in daily specials. It also requires keeping the Food and Beverage service staff up to date on menu specials and out-of-stock items to ensure smooth guest services. Food preparation must adhere strictly to recipes, quality standards, presentation benchmarks, and preparation checklists, including the preparation of cold foods.

Beyond food preparation, this position supports management efforts in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching kitchen staff, acting as a role model and a source of mentorship. The role carries responsibilities for following company policies related to safety and security, including reporting maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions, and completing required safety training and certifications. Professionalism is essential, demonstrated by a clean uniform and personal appearance, confidentiality about proprietary information, and protection of company assets. The position also involves anticipating and addressing guest service needs proactively and maintaining effective communication using clear, professional language. Job Duties
