The role of Cook I at SodexoMagic, specifically located at Stillman College, is a part-time position with varying shifts requiring open availability, allowing for a flexible schedule that can accommodate other life commitments. The pay range for this role is between $11.92 and $17.12 per hour. This position invites individuals who are passionate about food preparation and serving with a focus on quality, team collaboration, and minimizing food waste. As a Cook I, you will be entrusted with preparing nutritious and attractive dishes across multiple meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. You will work closely with your team to ensure all food items are prepared efficiently and meet high standards of taste and presentation.

In this role, your responsibilities will extend to reading and following recipes and product directions accurately to produce specified dishes. You may also have opportunities to operate a grill station or serve customers at an a la carte setup. Punctuality and reliability are essential, as showing up on time for scheduled shifts impacts the smooth operation of food services and customer satisfaction. Other duties may be assigned depending on business needs and client requirements, making adaptability a key trait for success in this position.

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which can differ among accounts depending on business necessities and client requirements
