Job Duties
- Cook 1 line
- provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
- prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking using various kitchen equipment
- assume full responsibility for quality of products served
- comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
- stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
- portion food products prior to cooking according to specifications
- maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including all cooking and refrigeration equipment
- prepare items by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning or marinating
- follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup
- handle, store and rotate products properly
- assist in food prep during off-peak periods
- adhere to cleanliness and food safety standards
- follow safety standards and participate in safety programs
- perform duties safely and wear safety equipment
- report hazards or accidents
- attend mandatory in-service meetings
- comply with all department and facility policies
- understand and follow fire and disaster plans
- promote and maintain safe work habits
