Job Duties

  • Cook 1 line
  • provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
  • prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking using various kitchen equipment
  • assume full responsibility for quality of products served
  • comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
  • stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • portion food products prior to cooking according to specifications
  • maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including all cooking and refrigeration equipment
  • prepare items by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning or marinating
  • follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup
  • handle, store and rotate products properly
  • assist in food prep during off-peak periods
  • adhere to cleanliness and food safety standards
  • follow safety standards and participate in safety programs
  • perform duties safely and wear safety equipment
  • report hazards or accidents
  • attend mandatory in-service meetings
  • comply with all department and facility policies
  • understand and follow fire and disaster plans
  • promote and maintain safe work habits
