Job Requirements
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D)
- ability to lift 40 pounds
- ability to work at a station for long periods
- willingness to learn commercial food preparation methods and sanitary practices
- ability to follow and give directions accurately
- ability to keep accurate records
- positive attitude and ability to relate effectively to students, colleagues, and community
- compliance with safety guidelines for blood-borne pathogens
- mobility to assist others and move around school
- ability to handle repetitive hand motion tasks
- availability to work 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday, based on the school calendar
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D)
- any combination of training and work experience indicating possession of required skills, knowledge, and abilities
- ability to follow and give directions both orally and in writing
- capacity to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community
- skill in using commercial kitchen equipment, following recipes, and bulk cooking
- knowledge of or willingness to learn USDA Child Nutrition standards and Franklin County Department of Health Food Protection standards
Job Duties
- Prepare food by washing, cooking, and producing trays of food using appropriate food safety processes such as FIFO
- serve customers by setting the line, serving guests, and using USDA standard serving portions with a positive attitude
- clean, dispose of garbage, break down boxes for recycling, clean and sanitize equipment, counters, and wash dishes and small wares
- stock and assist with moving stock to dry or cold storage and replenish service items such as chips, drinks, and disposables
- cashier and train others on the register, process customers through the Point of Service register with a joyful attitude
- substitute for the head cook in their absence
