Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be free of medical restrictions or limitations preventing duty performance
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Must utilize proper lifting procedures
  • May work uncommon hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, pull, push and lift equipment
  • Must be able to stand and walk majority of shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in food service or military dining facility preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and SOPs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical capability to perform strenuous tasks

Job Duties

  • Ensure meals are prepared according to Army recipes and SOP
  • Perform housekeeping duties and maintain kitchen cleanliness
  • Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment
  • Adhere to sanitation and food safety guidelines
  • Replenish serving lines and self-service areas
  • Communicate with Cook II regarding food quantity and quality
  • Properly store and label leftover food
  • Use gloves, utensils and control portions when serving
  • Assist customers courteously
  • Maintain safety, security and energy conservation in the dining facility
  • Maintain confidentiality on proprietary food service information
  • Maintain food service uniform and safety items
  • Perform other duties as assigned
