This position is a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) assignment located at the Golf Course of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. Job Requirements

  • Must have experience in food preparation and knowledge of food characteristics
  • must be able to perform yield testing for portion cost determination
  • must understand procedures for ordering, issuing, and storing food
  • experience must be gained from a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food activity
  • ability to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
  • eligibility must be proven by the application closing date
  • open to everyone with preferences determined by eligibility
  • no education substitution allowed
  • proof of foreign education equivalency required if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation principles and meal planning
  • knowledge of yield testing and portion cost calculation
  • understanding of food ordering, issuance, and storage procedures
  • ability to stand and work physically demanding shifts
  • experience gained from grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or related food service roles

  • ability to work in fast-paced environments

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to established food preparation principles and guidelines
  • perform yield testing to determine portion costs and adjust ingredients in recipes
  • follow procedures for ordering, issuing, and storing food supplies
  • ensure timely preparation and cooking of entire meals
  • maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the food preparation area
  • assist in managing inventory levels to reduce waste
  • support kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service operations
