The Cook will be an integral part of our culinary team, responsible not only for preparing delicious dishes but also for managing day-to-day kitchen operations and assisting in leading and mentoring junior staff members. This role requires advanced cooking techniques, knowledge of food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen. The Cook is expected to oversee food preparation processes ensuring consistent plate presentation and high quality with every dish served. Besides hands-on cooking skills, the Cook will provide training and guidance to other kitchen staff, sharing expertise through coaching and practical instruction. This position supports our Executive Chef and Sous Chef in special projects and maintains kitchen equipment and cleanliness to uphold sanitary standards. Additionally, the Cook contributes creative feedback and suggestions for new dishes and presentations, enhancing the dining experience of all patrons. The role also encompasses supervising kitchen personnel, including cooks, dishwashers, and prep-cooks, to ensure smooth kitchen operations and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen or similar environment
- must be Servsafe certified or have current Food handlers certificate
- must be able to work the morning shift, weekends, and holidays
- proven ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes, with experience in different cuisines
- knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen procedures
- ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties
- Prepare food products for the residents and guests while assuring plate presentation is consistent and high quality with all dishes
- provides hands on training and guidance for other kitchen staff for developmental and coaching opportunities
- consistently demonstrates a high level of experience in all facets of cooking including but not limited to grilling, sautéing, baking, food prep, creativity, and advanced cooking knowledge
- follow proper procedures for receiving food and food storage HACCP
- perform sanitation duties in kitchen work area
- complete assigned record keeping duties
- follow state and all regulatory compliance requirements to assure department is operating within guidelines
