The current opportunity is for a Cook position at their Brightmore Wilmington location, situated at 2320 41st Street, Wilmington, NC. This role offers both full-time and part-time schedules, with shifts primarily from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, including potential weekend and holiday work. Job Requirements

  • Prior high volume cooking experience
  • Experience in healthcare food service preferred
  • Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules
  • Availability to work early morning shifts from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Ability to perform duties in compliance with federal, state and corporate food safety regulations
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment safely
  • Commitment to personal and workplace safety practices
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in high-volume cooking preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or senior living food service preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic record keeping and inventory management abilities

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and presented attractively
  • Tastes all prepared food items to ensure quality
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen after preparation and serving, adhering to hygiene standards
  • Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists with production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents promptly
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Adheres to company policies including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
  • Follows HACCP standards for food safety and portion control
