This particular opportunity is for full-time and part-time Cook positions located at McLaren Greater Lansing in Lansing, Michigan. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum one year of culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules including rotating weekends and holidays
  • Availability Monday through Friday with variable hours
  • Ability to perform physical kitchen tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Compliance with company safety policies including use of gloves and slip-resistant shoes
  • Ability to pass background screening if applicable
  • Capability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • One year of previous culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to prepare food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards including HACCP

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, maintaining proper temperature and presentation
  • Taste all prepared food items to ensure quality
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen after preparation and serving
  • Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting
  • Report maintenance needs or accidents to supervisors
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Follow all safety and hygiene policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with coworkers, customers, and managers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
