The role of Cook at AVI Foodsystems is a full-time position designed for an energetic and optimistic team member who enjoys working in a dynamic kitchen environment. This role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the significant benefit of no weekend or holiday work, providing a great work-life balance for candidates. The Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of meals according to company standards, ensuring high-quality food presentation and adherence to stringent food safety and sanitation practices. The role involves preparing ingredients through various cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling, and it requires strong familiarity with kitchen equipment and appliances.
In addition to cooking duties, the Cook must maintain a sanitary kitchen environment and contribute creatively to menu development by collaborating with the team to enhance daily, holiday, and theme menus. Job Duties
- Please customers by providing a pleasant dining experience
- assemble, combine, and cook ingredients
- maintain a sanitary kitchen
- attend to the detail and presentation of each order
- place and expedite orders
- prepare ingredients by following recipes including slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing
- complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients
- assemble and refrigerate cold ingredients
- adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items
- store leftovers according to established standards
- contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team
