The full-time Cook position at Del Amo Behavioral Health System plays an essential role in supporting patient care by preparing nutritious and safe meals for patients, staff, and hospital personnel. This critical role involves maintaining the Food Services Department in a sanitary manner while adhering strictly to health and safety standards. The Cook’s responsibilities include preparing food according to prescribed nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions, supporting the hospital’s overall mission of delivering quality care through efficient food service. Job Requirements
- High school education diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience as a cook or cook's helper in an institutional food service facility required
- Ability to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures
- Strong verbal, reading and written communication and customer service skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Math skills to calculate recipes and diets
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary
