Job Description
Eurest, a part of Compass Group, is a global leader in foodservice management, recognized for its commitment to service excellence and culinary innovation. With a strong focus on connecting with people, inspiring through food, creating innovative solutions, and living up to its promise, Eurest serves many of the world's most respected corporations, including numerous Fortune 500 companies. Operating with a robust local presence while leveraging global resources, Eurest is dedicated to enriching the communities it serves by offering high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences.
The company is currently seeking a full-time Cook to join its team at the Nalco/Ecolab location in Naperville, Illinois. This Cook position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with no nights or weekend work, providing a healthy work-life balance. The pay range for this role is competitive, between $18.00 and $20.00 per hour, reflecting Eurest's recognition of skilled foodservice professionals. In addition, internal employees have the opportunity to benefit from a referral bonus program, further emphasizing the company's commitment to a collaborative and employee-focused culture.
The Cook's primary responsibility is to prepare high-quality food items following standardized recipes while adhering to federal, state, and corporate food safety and quality standards. The position demands attention to detail in ensuring that each dish is prepared on schedule, served or packaged correctly, meets portion control guidelines, and is maintained at the proper temperature. The successful candidate will be experienced in tasting and quality assurance to maintain the high standards that Eurest upholds.
Beyond food preparation, the Cook will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment, ensuring refrigerators, storerooms, and kitchen equipment are kept in optimal condition. This role includes assisting with inventory management such as ordering and receiving food supplies, as well as managing production planning and record-keeping to support efficient kitchen operations.
Eurest values safety and compliance; therefore, the Cook must adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the use of protective gear like medium-weight cut gloves when handling knives and other sharp utensils, oven mitts when handling hot items, and slip-resistant footwear. Safety meetings and continuous in-service training are part of the role, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential since the Cook interacts closely with coworkers, customers, managers, and administrators, fostering a positive work environment.
Eurest offers comprehensive benefits, particularly for full-time associates, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, as well as retirement and wellness programs. Additional perks include an associate shopping program, identity theft protection, pet insurance, various voluntary insurance options, and commuter benefits. Paid and unpaid time off benefits are available according to federal, state, and local laws, reinforcing the company’s commitment to employee well-being.
This Cook position is ideal for candidates passionate about delivering exceptional foodservice in a supportive and well-structured environment. Experience in the foodservice industry is a plus but not mandatory, as Eurest values dedication, willingness to learn, and personal safety commitment. The organization emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, inviting candidates from all backgrounds to apply and be part of a dynamic and celebrated team.
Applications are accepted online only and remain open until all openings are filled, with potential for consideration in future opportunities if not selected initially. Candidates are encouraged to use the convenient text application option for faster processing. Eurest is an equal opportunity employer committed to a drug-free workplace and maintains rigorous standards for hiring to ensure the best match for the role and company culture.
